Something peculiar happens at a wedding. We panic. We think: ‘Shit! I need a WEDDING OUTFIT’ and then head to Coast to buy a shiny bandeau dress and pair it with a purple fascinator.
Why oh why?
I mean, there are wedding rules. One must not wear white. Particularly if it’s a long dress. With a veil. Personally, I think cream or beige or light colours are OK. Just don’t tell the Daily Mail. They recently slated Donna Air for the beautiful light lemon Emilia Wickstead dress she wore to Pippa Middleton’s wedding. Trying to upstage the bride they said.
If we add autumn or winter in front of the word wedding, there’s mild hysteria.
‘IT’S GOING TO BE TOO COLD FOR A PASHMINA!’
Put the freakin’ pashmina down. Someone somewhere said we should wear a pashmina (that matches the fascinator) so that’s what we do. No! Just wear long sleeves or a smart coat.
I’ve got a wedding in two weeks’ time so I’ve rounded up a selection of fabulous autumnal dresses and a jumpsuit. Here you go.
